How often should I have my pet groomed?

The ideal grooming frequency largely depends on your pet’s breed, coat type, and lifestyle.
Generally:

  • Long-haired breeds often need grooming every 4-8 weeks to prevent matting.
  • Short-haired breeds may only require it every 8-12 weeks.

We always recommend regular at-home brushing between professional grooms to keep your pet’s coat healthy and looking its best!

  • A standard grooming session with us usually includes:
  • A bath using shampoos and conditioners tailored to your pet’s skin and coat.
  • Thorough blow-drying.
    Brushing and de-matting (if needed).
  • A professional haircut (if applicable to your pet’s breed or your preference).
  • Nail trimming and careful ear cleaning.

Some of our standard packages may also include anal gland expression.

While we specialize in dog grooming, we also offer professional cat grooming services. Please know that cat grooming requires specially trained groomers and may have different availability, so it’s always best to contact us directly to confirm and schedule your feline friend’s appointment.

For the safety and well-being of all pets in our care, we require proof of your pet’s current rabies vaccination. We may also recommend or require other vaccinations like distemper, parvovirus, and bordetella (kennel cough) to ensure a healthy environment for everyone.

The time can vary based on your pet’s breed, coat condition, and the specific services you’ve requested. Generally, a full grooming session can take anywhere from 2-4 hours. Shorter services, like a quick nail trim, usually take about 15-20 minutes.

Pet Comfort & Safety

Helping your furry friends feel at ease during grooming.

My pet gets very anxious during grooming. What can be done to help?

We understand that grooming can be a stressful experience for some pets. Our groomers are
trained in positive reinforcement and calming techniques to help anxious pets feel more
comfortable. We can also discuss options like “express” services to minimize their time with
us. Please let us know about your pet’s anxiety when you book so we can discuss the best
approach and make special accommodations.

Matted fur can be quite painful for your pet and can lead to skin problems. While we always try our best to carefully de-mat, severe matting may require shaving to ensure your pet’s comfort and safety. Please note that additional fees may apply for de-matting services due to the extra time and care involved.

For the safety and comfort of both your pet and our groomers, we generally do not allow
owners to be present in the grooming area. We’ve found that pets often become more
anxious or distracted when their owners are nearby, which can make the grooming process
more difficult and potentially unsafe. Rest assured, your pet is in caring and professional hands!

We generally do not recommend shaving double-coated breeds unless absolutely necessary, as it can damage their natural insulation and affect coat regrowth. We will only recommend shaving if your pet’s fur is severely matted beyond what brushing and de-shedding can address, or for specific medical purposes. This decision will always be made with your agreement and the recommendation of our PCCI-trained groomers. We strongly encourage owners of double-coated pets to regularly brush them at home and schedule frequent grooming sessions to prevent severe matting.

Adding flair while keeping pets safe.

Creative & Special Pet Grooming

Do you offer pet hair dyeing services? What should I know about creative pet hair dye?

Yes, we offer creative pet hair dyeing services! Here are some important reminders about our pet hair dye:

  • We do not apply dye on pets with any underlying health issues, such as illness, irritated skin, allergies, wounds, flaky skin, dry skin, sensitive skin, hotspots, or damaged skin. Your pet’s well-being is our top priority.
  • We do not apply dye on black, brown, or gray dogs and cats because the color will not show or adhere effectively to their fur.  Please understand that your pet’s natural hair texture and base color can vary, so the final result of the dye may also vary.  We use semi-permanent dyes that are 100% safe for pets. The color typically lasts at least 5-10 months, though this can depend on how frequently you bathe your pet.
  • Please be aware that color transfer may occur from your pet’s dyed hair to other surfaces, such as clothing, bedding, or furniture, especially when wet.

We only use products formulated specifically for pets—never human dyes. These are free from harsh chemicals like ammonia or peroxide. However, we recommend dyeing only for healthy adult pets, not very young puppies/kittens, seniors with fragile skin, or pets with existing skin sensitivities.

Yes, we reserve the right to refuse grooming services in certain situations to ensure the safety and well-being of all pets and our staff. This includes, but isn’t limited to, cases where:

  • A pet exhibits extreme aggression that poses a risk to themselves or our groomers.
  • A pet has severe matting or health conditions that would make grooming unsafe or overly stressful for them.
  • We have reached our daily capacity or cut-off time for walk-in services to maintain the quality of our care.
  • We operate on a first-come, first-served basis for certain services, and if we’ve reached our limit, we may ask you to return another time. We always prioritize your pet’s comfort and safety, and we’ll communicate openly if we’re unable to provide a service.

Pet-safe dyes are semi-permanent and generally do not rub off once the coat is dry. However, during the first day, some slight transfer may occur if your pet gets wet. We recommend avoiding contact with light-colored fabrics immediately after the appointment.

To maintain the color, avoid frequent baths and use gentle, pet-safe shampoos. Brush regularly to prevent tangles and keep the coat looking vibrant. Monitor your pet’s skin for any irritation, though reactions are extremely rare with pet-safe dye.

When we may need to say no — for everyone’s safety.

Grooming Policies & Limitations

Do you ever refuse grooming services?

Yes, we reserve the right to refuse grooming services in certain situations to ensure the safety and well-being of all pets and our staff. This includes, but isn’t limited to, cases where:

● A pet exhibits extreme aggression that poses a risk to themselves or our groomers.
● A pet has severe matting or health conditions that would make grooming unsafe or overly stressful for them.
● We have reached our daily capacity or cut-off time for walk-in services to maintain the quality of our care.
● We operate on a first-come, first-served basis for certain services, and if we’ve reached our limit, we may ask you to return another time.

We always prioritize your pet’s comfort and safety, and we’ll communicate openly if we’re unable to provide a service.

If we discover fleas or ticks during grooming, we may need to adjust or reschedule the session. Some salons offer flea baths at an additional cost, but in severe cases we may recommend veterinary treatment before grooming can continue.

Yes, but requests must be appropriate for your pet’s coat type and condition. For example, double-coated breeds should not be shaved down, as it can damage their coat and affect temperature regulation. Our groomers will discuss safe style options with you.

If your pet shows signs of high anxiety or stress, we may take breaks, shorten the session, or recommend multiple shorter visits instead of one long session. In rare cases, we may stop grooming to keep your pet safe

We can groom some pets with mild medical conditions, but we require full disclosure of your pet’s health issues before the appointment. For pets with serious conditions (such as heart disease, seizures, or recent surgery), we may request veterinary clearance first.

Shop Policies

Returns, exchanges, and customer satisfaction.

What is Mighty Waggers' return and exchange policy?

At Mighty Waggers, we want you and your pet to be absolutely delighted! You can return or exchange an item if it arrived broken, not working right, damaged, or if you received a different item than what you ordered.

However, in line with the Consumer Act of the Philippines (RA 7394), we cannot accept returns or exchanges if you simply changed your mind, the item was damaged after it left our store due to handling, or you found the same item for less elsewhere.

For a smooth return, please ensure the item:

  • Is proven to have hidden manufacturing defects not detectable upon purchase.
  • Is in its original, sealed, and pristine condition, with no signs of damage, tampering, or opening.
  • Includes all original accessories, barcode, price tag, and label. Please note: We do not offer returns, exchanges, or refunds for pet socks, pet clothes, pet diapers, or items for hygiene purposes.

We offer complimentary pick-up and drop-off for your furbabies with our full grooming services. For basic grooming, a small additional fee applies. Please contact us to check our service area coverage. Keep in mind that this service operates on a first-come, first-served basis and does not guarantee a reserved slot. There may be a waiting list upon your furbaby’s arrival. Our cut-off time is 3:30 PM, but this could vary depending on the waiting list and our groomers’ availability for the day. Thank you for your understanding.

If you receive the wrong product or one that is damaged upon delivery, please contact us within 24–48 hours with photos of the item. We’ll arrange for a replacement or refund at no extra cost to you.

Refunds are typically processed through your original payment method (e.g., GrabPay, card, or cash refund in-store). Processing time may vary depending on the provider but usually takes 3–7 business days.

Sale, discounted, and clearance items are final sale and may not be returned or exchanged unless the product is defective or damaged.
